As a regular meeting of shareholders in March 2001 approved the establishment of a holding company, Green Cross adopted holding company structure for transformation of its management system. Its holding company structure consists of four businesses including healthcare division, pharmaceutical division, an overseas division and a foundation division.
Green Cross Holdings, acting as a holding company, is involved in establishing and coordinating business strategies for Green Cross subsidiaries, launching new strategic businesses, and managing investment portfolios. In the meantime, each subsidiary carries out the manufacture and sales of pharmaceutical products.
Amid such changes, Green Cross envisions becoming a ¡°Total Healthcare Service Provider.¡± By providing a comprehensive healthcare service for the health of people in Korea under the name of Green Cross. It will take care of each individual¡¯s health from birth in a baby to growth in a 100-year adult.
As part of its efforts to become a ¡°Total Healthcare Service Provider¡±, Green Cross opened a cord blood bank. It also seeks to find institutions and measures suitable for Korea through the research and analysis of ¡°total healthcare services¡± in other countries including the United States, conducted by Green Cross Healthcare Consulting, incorporated in the United States. Additionally, GC Healthcare, Green Cross¡¯ subsidiary, is already offering healthcare service, which is as yet partial, but fitting the Korean situation.
Ten years from now, with these efforts combined, Green Cross will be able to provide the customers who signed up for ¡°Total Healthcare Service Program,¡± with comprehensive healthcare services including detailed constitution diagnosis, storage and therapeutic use of umbilical cord, regular medical checkup, illness prevention and control, health consulting, elderly care and health insurance management for individuals.
